William J. Abbott has been President and CEO and a director of Crown Media Holdings since June 2009. Prior to that, Mr. Abbott served as Executive Vice President, National Advertising Sales at Hallmark Channel. Mr. Abbott joined Hallmark Channel in 2002, after serving as Senior Vice President, Advertising Sales, for Fox Family Worldwide since 1988. Prior to this, Mr. Abbott was Vice President, Eastern Sales at Fox Family Worldwide. Mr. Abbott's experience also includes positions with CBS Radio Networks, Seltel, Inc. and Nadler & Larimaer Advertising.
Bob Bloss has been a Director of the Company since July 2009. Mr. Bloss is Senior Vice President of Human Resources and a corporate officer at Hallmark Cards, Inc. He began his career with Hallmark in 1986 as a management development manager and was promoted to his current position and named a corporate officer in March 2008. Prior to joining Hallmark, Mr. Bloss worked in human resources and manufacturing line management for Colgate-Palmolive. Mr. Bloss is Chairman of the Compensation Committee.
Dwight Arn has been a director of Crown Media since March 2008. Mr. Arn has been Associate General Counsel of Hallmark Cards since 1989. Additionally, Mr. Arn has been serving as General Counsel of Hallmark International since 1992 and as General Counsel of Crayola LLC since 1995. Mr. Arn began his career at Hallmark Cards in 1976 and has served in various attorney positions.
William Cella has been a Director of Crown Media Holdings since March 2008. Mr. Cella is the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of The Cella Group, a media sales representation company. Before forming The Cella Group in 2008, Mr. Cella led MAGNA Global, a Media Negotiation, Research and Programming Unit of the Interpublic Group of Companies. From 1997 through 2001, Mr. Cella served as Executive Vice President and Director of Broadcast and Programming for Universal McCann North America. From 1994 through 1997, Mr. Cella served as Director of National Broadcast and Programming for McCann-Erickson and, in 1997, was named Executive Vice President of McCann-Erickson for all of North America. Before joining McCann, Mr. Cella worked at ABC for 15 years, rising to the position of President of sports sales before leaving the company. In 2007 Bill was inducted into the Broadcasting and Cable Hall of Fame.
Glenn Curtis has served as a Director of Crown Media since January 2005. he has been Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Starz LLC since August 2006, Prior to that, he was Vice President of Liberty Media Corporation from 2003 to August 2006. Mr. Curtis served as Executive Vice President and CFO of Starz Entertainment Group from April 1995 to May 2002. Prior to joining Starz Entertainment Group Mr. Curtis served in the assurance practice of the accounting firm of KPMG for more than five years, most recently as a partner.
Mr. Doyal has been a director of Crown Media Holdings since 2007. He has been Senior Vice President of Public Affairs and Communications at Hallmark Cards, Inc. since 1994 and a corporate officer serving on the company's personal expression group management team. Mr. Doyal began his career at Hallmark in 1974. He has held a variety of communications and public relations positions at Hallmark.
Brian E. Gardner has been a Director of Crown Media since January 2004. He has been Executive Vice President and General Counsel of Hallmark Cards since December 2003. Prior to this, Mr. Gardner was a Managing Partner of Stinson, Morrison, Hecker LLP (formerly known as Morrison & Hecker LLP).
Herbert Granath is Co-Chairman of the Board and has been a Director of Crown Media Holdings since December, 2004. He hs been a consultant for Telenet since 2000 and a consultant for Accenture since 2006. He has also been a director of Central European Media Enterprises Ltd. since 2001. Previously, Mr. Granath was employed by ABC for over 35 years and was Chairman, Discovery/ABC International, where he was responsible for the international television production and program distribution activites of the Walt Disney Company and its wholly-owned subsididary, ABC, Inc. Mr. Granath also served as Chairman of the Board of A&E, The History Channel, The Biography Channel and Lifetime Television, and was a founding partner and Board member of Eurosport, the largest cable netowrk in Europe.
Timothy Griffith has been a director of Crown Media Holdings since June 2012. Mr. Griffith has been Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Hallmark Cards since December of 2007. He has been in the finance division for Hallmark Cards since joining the company in 1978. In his time with Hallmark, Mr. Griffith has served in a director or manager in a variety of finance areas. He is currently a member of the Compensation Committee of Hallmark. He also serves on the Board of a Kansas City area not-for-profit, Southwest Boulevard Family Health Care. Mr. Griffith was selected as a director nominee because of his extensive business and financial experience.
Donald J. Hall, Jr. is a Co-Chairman of the Board and has been a director of Crown Media Holdings since May 2000. Mr. Hall has been the President and Chief Executive Officer of Hallmark Cards since January 2002 and a member of the board of directors of Hallmark Cards since 1996. Prior to that he was the Executive Vice President, Strategy and Development, of Hallmark Cards from September 1999 to December 2001. Mr. Hall has served in a variety of positions for Hallmark Cards since 1971. Mr. Hall was the Vice President, Product Development, of Hallmark Cards from September 1997 until August 1999. Prior to that, he was the Vice President, Creative, from January 1995 until August 1997.
A. Drue Jennings has been a director of Crown Media Holdings since October 2006. Mr. Jennings has been of counsel to the Kansas City-based law firm of Polsinelli Shughart (formerly known as Shughart ,Thomson & Kilroy, P.C.) Mr. Jennings was the interim Athletic Director at the University of Kansas from Aprio 2003 until July 2003. Mr. Jennings previously served as General Counsel and then Chief Exectuive Officer of Kansas City Power & Light Co.
Peter A. Lund has been a director of Crown Media Holdings since May 2000. He was the President and Chief Executive Officer of CBS, Inc. from October 1995 until June 1997, and the former President and Chief Executive Officer of CBS Television and Cable. Prior to that, Mr. Lund served in a variety of positions with CBS commencing in 1977, including President of CBS Broadcasting Group, President of CBS Sports, President of CBS Television Stations and President of CBS Television Network. Mr. Lund served as a director and member of the Compensation Committee and Audit Committee of DIRECTV and The DIRECTV Group. Mr. Lund currently serves as the chairman of the Company's Nominating Committee.
Brad R. Moore has been a director of the Company since March 2008. Mr. Moore has been President of Hallmark Hall of Fame Productions since 1993 and Hallmark Publishing from 2007 to 2009, both of which are wholly-owned subsidiaries of Hallmark Cards. Prior to that, Mr. Moore led the development, production and distribution of the Hallmark Hall of Fame series since 1983. Mr. Moore directed Hallmark Cards' U.S. advertising efforts from 1982 to 1998.
Deanne R. Stedem has been a director of Crown Media Holdings since March 2003. She has been Associate General Counsel of Hallmark Cards since 1998. She served as Senior Attorney for Hallmark Cards from 1989 until 1998.
